Scholarship

2021 APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED

The Marvin Ridge Theatre Arts Boosters (TAB) scholarships are merit-based awards intended for graduating seniors who have exemplified passion, commitment, and involvement in the Theatre Arts (ex. musical theatre, theatre education, technical theatre, directing, stage management, playwriting, etc.) while at MRHS.  Merit scholarships are awarded without regard for a student's (or family's) ability to pay for college. Merit is based on student characteristics, experience, interests, abilities, and extracurricular activities (among other attributes).

The value of a TAB scholarship has ranged from $1,000 to $1,250 for each recipient and typically there are 4 recipients.  Budget and number of applications may determine actual scholarship amount.

In addition to a scholarship application, typically there will be interviews held for each student applicant with the Scholarship Selection Committee (SSC).  Interviews will be held and the time and location will be posted here.

Congratulations!

2019 TAB Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to our 2019 TAB Scholarship Award Recipients: Nina Zarrillo, Abby Mueller, Holly Walker, and Ava Torrise.

The SSC is comprised of two public school arts colleagues of the MRHS theatre director/teacher, two interested patrons from the community, and one collegiate level academic.  All SSC members have been thoroughly vetted to ensure no relationships exist that would impair the SSC member’s ability to be completely objective.  The MRHS TAB Scholarship Conflict of Interest Policy is available upon request.  No TAB board member or "theatre parent" is a voting member of the SSC.

Questions regarding this application or process should be directed to marvinridgetab@gmail.com.

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2021 WAS APRIL 2, 2021.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GIVEN.
